Toureen Retail complete Asda, Kettering knock-down / re-build

Appointed as Principal Contractor, the 15 week project began with the demolition of the existing sales shop; to facilitate the build of a brand new kiosk, new control room and associated forecourt.

The build required the concrete forecourt surface to be removed in order to extract the 6 existing fuel tanks. This was followed by the installation of two new 75,000 litre fuel tanks on site with new fuel lines, new drainage and a new 10,000 litre class 1 interceptor.

Toureen Retail also undertook the refurbishment of the existing car wash and existing jet wash bay, installing a new jet wash machine. The project was completed with the installation of a new canopy and a new forecourt, together with four new pump islands.

The site team overcame the challenge of poor ground conditions by using piled foundations for the canopy and a cofferdam for the new tank; thereby engineering out the need for a second cofferdam to remove the existing tank farm.

Through hard work by the site team to overcome the project challenges, the programme of works was successfully completed as scheduled and delivered significant cost savings to the client. The project was handed over on time to our enthusiastic client who was once again delighted with Toureen's high standard of workmanship and commended our team on site;

“Another great scheme landed by Bryan and his team, Nick has been a fantastic site manager, the project finished on time which is a great effort considering the ground conditions we had on this site.”
